Is the delivery of the new ones already started ? I ‘m at my second plane right now since they started production and haven’t seen one fly jet …….
I received an email today about the icon a5 for sale. It looks like they raised the price from $139k to $189k…ouch! Here is the email. “We’ve made a lot of great production progress in the last few months, and to celebrate, we are offering a promotion this week during the 2013 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Air Show, which runs from 29 July to 4 August. The promotion is available for deposits placed online or in person at the show and reduces the deposit for an A5 production position from $5,000 to $2,000. In the last year, we have continued to transition from being a company focused on the development of the A5 to being almost completely focused on its full-scale production. The engineering and design teams have completed the design for the A5 in its entirety, meaning that every component of the aircraft’s 16 major systems-down to the smallest nut, bolt, and fastener-has been identified, designed, and modeled in ICON’s computer-aided design program. Tooling for many of the components is well under way. Coupled with our recent D round of funding and today’s breaking news that the FAA has granted our exemption request for a higher gross weight, we are in an excellent position, making this an excellent opportunity to join us.
